just got a call from my best friend, who her and her husband have been fading for some time.
apparently her husband arived at work (he owns his own business) only to be dropped in on by a relative "elder"!

I've had heated discussions with my parents about 607, UN NGO membership, past failed prophecy etc etc. I argue with facts that they can't deny so their whole argument veers to a purely personal one 'that they want to be witnesses and they couldn't cope with not being one'
i just heard that my brother has been picked to be one of the main parts in the drama at this years district convention .
i thought this was hilarious when my mother told me tonight.
i said was he gonna be jezebel so my mum thinking i was been sarcastic and derogatory about it changed the subject.
Yeah it was like that too in my area Freedomlover. Only those part of the 'in-crowd', who were usually the wealthy, got to be on dramas and such.
It's funny cos since I stopped going to the meetings my bro has gone on leaps and bounds as a JW. He's now an MS, got married, book counter servant, drama etc. When he was with me he never found the meetings interesting at all or answered up. He found it boring like I did.
I guess without my cynical, jaded attitude towards it all he's got renewed interest in it and got to be part of the in-crowd.

tonight however she mentioned that she had answered up incorrectly at the book study this week and she wanted to know what my take on it was.. the question was can disfellowshipped anointed ones come back into the org and still claim they are of the anointed?.

Surely being disfellowshipped though means willfully practising sin without repentance. Before you are disfellowshipped proper you always have the opportunity to repent and come back and if you don't then surely that constitutes a willful act against the spirit by their own standards?

Is there now two classes of disfellowshipping for anointed. One for apostasy which means total seclusion and another for adultery etc which is forgivable?

I always thought it was classed as sinning against the spirit, especially if it was for apostasy.

When I used to have to sit through them that overdubbed soundtrack used to get on my nerves. One thing I always wished was that the people on the stage could use their own voices.

Only joking i love history too. I'm into the great B.C. cultures like Sumerians, Assyrians, Hittites, Aryans, Egyptians, Phoenicians. Oh and Chinese too cos it's fascinating to read about an ancient culture that was so different from the near and far east cultures but contemporary with them.

in my book i have pasted some direct quotes from the wt literature and there are about 60% passive sentences along with wrong grammar and some spelling mistakes.. has anyone else found the wt literature written poorly?.

I'm really persnickety about spelling, grammar and punctuation and used to love it when I found mistakes in the publications.
I have to admit that I didn't find many spelling mistakes. There were a lot of grammar and punctuation issues though; too much use of unnecessary exclamation marks used to get on my nerves especially.
It's a good point about passive sentences Reckless. I remember from my college English class that many businesses, politicians, educators etc use the passive voice to avoid responsibility for actions taken.
A lot of grammatical errors and strange sentence structure in the mags I often put down to being an American way of forming a sentence. Maybe it was just plain wrong after all.
